Frequently asked

Is my manuscript used to train AI models?
No. Creader never trains or fine-tunes models on your writing. The default AI providers — OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google — serve Creader under API terms that exclude customer content from training, and Privacy Mode restricts Creader to those providers only. The few optional models with looser policies are clearly marked before you choose them.
Which AI providers receive my writing?
Your writing is sent to a provider only when you run an AI feature, and only the slice of context relevant to that request — never the whole manuscript in bulk. Requests go to OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google by default; vector embeddings are generated via OpenAI and stored in our own database. The full provider table, with each training policy, is in our Privacy Policy.
Can anyone at Creader read my manuscript?
Manuscripts are private by default — nothing is visible to anyone else unless you publish it. Access to the production database is restricted, and we look at your content only to resolve a support request you raise. AI interaction logs may be reviewed to improve AI quality; they are deleted after 12 months at the latest.
If I delete a manuscript, is it actually gone?
Yes. Deleting a book or your account hard-deletes the manuscript, chapters, knowledge base, embeddings, and AI history together — cascading deletes, not hidden flags. Our Privacy Policy commits to complete removal within 30 days, and database backups expire automatically on a rolling schedule. Only chapters you chose to publish may persist in third-party search caches.
Is my writing ever used for demos or marketing?
No. You grant us only the rights needed to operate the service for you — storing, displaying, and processing your work. That grant does not extend to marketing, demos, or examples, and everything shown in Creader's own materials is fiction we wrote ourselves. Only work you explicitly publish is ever visible to anyone else.
What happens to my work if Creader is acquired or shuts down?
Your copyright is yours and stays yours — our Terms claim no ownership of your work, and no acquisition can change who owns your manuscript. You can export your full manuscript and knowledge base at any time, and material changes to our policies require 14 days' advance notice. If the service were ever wound down, you would get notice and time to export everything first.
