Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Creader at creader.io (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice in the Service at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
2. The Service
Creader is a world expression platform for writers and creators. The Service includes a rich text editor, knowledge base, AI writing assistant, timeline and relationship tools, publishing features, and related functionality.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice before discontinuing core features.
3. Accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU/UK) to use the Service.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- One person, one account. Shared accounts are not permitted.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Your Content
You own your content. Books, chapters, characters, worldbuilding, notes, and all other creative material you create in Creader remain your intellectual property. We claim no ownership over your content.
License to us: by using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process, display, and transmit your content solely to operate and improve the Service. This includes sending your content to AI providers (as described in our Privacy Policy) and generating vector embeddings for search functionality.
Publishing: if you choose to publish content, you grant us a license to make that content publicly accessible. You can unpublish at any time.
Deletion: when you delete content or your account, we will delete your data from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., payment records).
5. AI Features
- AI-generated content is provided as a creative aid. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and taking ownership of any AI-generated text you incorporate into your work.
- AI outputs may be inaccurate, inconsistent, or inappropriate. We do not guarantee the quality, originality, or suitability of AI-generated content.
- Your content is sent to third-party AI providers when you use AI features. See our Privacy Policy (Section 5) for details on which providers and their data policies.
- You can enable Privacy Mode to restrict AI to providers that do not use your data for model training.
- AI token usage is subject to your subscription tier limits. Exceeding your quota will temporarily disable AI features until the next billing cycle or until you purchase additional tokens.
6. Subscriptions and Payments
6.1 Plans
The Service offers Free, Pro ($9.99/month or $99.99/year), and Creator ($29.99/month or $299.99/year) plans. Plan features and pricing may change; existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days before price increases take effect on their account.
6.2 Billing
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's terms.
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
6.3 Token Packs
Token packs are one-time purchases that add AI tokens to your account. Token packs do not expire and carry over across billing periods.

7. Acceptable Use
You may not use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.
- Upload malware, spam, or harmful code.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts.
- Abuse AI features (e.g., automated bulk generation, circumventing rate limits).
- Harass, threaten, or impersonate others.
- Distribute content that exploits minors.
- Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice depending on severity.
8. Our Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, features, documentation, and branding, is owned by Creader and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
WE SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIM ANY WARRANTIES REGARDING AI-GENERATED CONTENT, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CREADER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR CREATIVE WORK, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Creader, its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
12. Termination
- You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings.
- We may terminate or suspend your account for violation of these Terms.
- Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
- We will retain your data for up to 30 days after account deletion to allow recovery, then permanently delete it (except where retention is required by law).
- Sections 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
EU/UK users: nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence.
14. Miscellaneous
- If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- Our failure to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
- These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Creader.
